We broke out the specialty paints to finish up our cardboard owls. Glow-in-the-dark eyes and golden feathers make them wonderful.
Step one: Look at examples. Practice. Guided drawing on paper with sharpie. (begin with the eyes)
Step two: Final version. Draw on cardboard with sharpie. Draw big. Fill the space.
Step three: Dot on feathers with brown paint and Q-tips.
Step four: Brush and yellow paint for eyes, beak, feet. Brush on brown feathers if you like.
Step five. Glow in the Dark eyes. Golden feathers. Black outlining.
Cut out and enjoy.
We have a lovely collection for our owl tree. Coming soon.

Some of the entries we submitted to the International Peace Poster contest sponsored by the Lions Club. The theme this year is "Children Know Peace". We were again crunched for time, but I love the many ways kids found to responded to the theme. We'll know soon who our local winner is. Perhaps one of these beauties.
